About The Wye Nursery

The Wye Nursery is an equal opportunities nursery, offering high quality pre-school education to families from all backgrounds in and around the Herefordshire area. The Nursery itself has been established for over 30 years making it one of the longest serving nurseries in the area, with Maria taking over the nursery in 2006.

Maria left school and went to train at the famous Norland college, recognised as one of the world's finest early years childcare training facilities. Norland college was actually the first college to start offering childcare training and has a deep history right back to 1892. Maria excelled in Norland's challenging environment, this resulted in her gaining the Norland Diploma with merit. Alongside working towards her Norland Diploma Maria also gained her N.N.E.B.

After college, Maria worked within numerous early years education providers. Maria has worked in both practical and managerial roles within these settings, studying many teaching methods along the way. 

The Wye Nursery is committed to offering a warm, friendly, safe environment, where we recognise that parent/carers are children's first teachers, and that children can flourish in a setting they feel comfortable in. We build positive relationships so that nursery becomes a home from home environment and the qualified and experienced staff become extended family.

The Wye Nursery recognises that each child is different and will learn at different rates to others. Every child deserves the best possible start in life and The Wye Nursery provides a caring, happy and inviting atmosphere in which your child can take their first steps in education.

Children are encouraged to explore, discover and learn through a variety of actitivities. We build confidence and self-esteem within a secure and stimulating environment through both structured and purposeful play.

'' Since taking over at The Wye Nursery, I have been fortunate to have met lots of wonderful families, from in and around Hereford. The Wye Nursery has 34 places, the largest room which is our Pre-School room, has a maximum of 16 children per day, with our other 2 rooms having maximums of 12 toddlers and 6 babies. This means compared to other larger nurseries, we have small classes enabling us to get to know each individual child, therefore helping us create that second family feel that we aim to achieve.

All of my staff are fully qualified with some holding degrees in their respected areas of childcare, and they all work closely together ensuring that we create a warm friendly environment that is both safe and stimulating for all of our children to thrive to their best potential."
