 Funded Childcare

We accept children eligible for government funding. We do not charge any additional 'top up fees' nor ask for 'voluntary contributions'.

We offer full flexibility for parents to choose when to use the funded hours.

So what is funded childcare ?

All parents of 3 & 4 year olds are entitled to up to 15 universal funded hours per week, the term after their child's third birthday (15 hours TERM TIME only or 11 hours ALL YEAR ROUND). Parents who are in receipt of certain benefits may also be eligible to apply for funding for 2 year olds. More information about the 2 year funding is available at https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/family-support/free-early-education-childcare/2.

Many working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds in England may be eligible for the extended 15 hours of funded childcare. This would equate to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week. 30 hours is for a maximum of 38 weeks per year - which is our Term-Time only option. It works in a similar way to school term times - and totals 1140 funded hours per academic year. As we are open all year round, our more popular option is to stretch the hours for 51 weeks of the year which equates to 22 hours per week and includes all the school holidays except for 1 week at Christmas when nursery is closed and bank holidays.

How do I apply for the extended funding, and is there any other help available towards the cost of childcare?
